Casa Ginjeira retains the gracious style and comforts of an established home, with antiques and artworks collected over the years, whilst it has recently been thoroughly modernised with new bathrooms and beautiful terracotta floors which are heated when required and cool in the summer.

All the bedrooms have French doors opening onto a wide south-facing verandah.

The verandah provides sun and shade, with space to enjoy a meal and the stunning view of the valley and the South coast beyond.

The main house sleeps six. There are four bedrooms, a double bedroom, two singles and a twin that can be made into a double. All these bedrooms have French windows opening out onto the south-facing veranda. There are two bathrooms, both with full-sized baths and walk-n showers, an extra WC, and a laundry room.

The living room, dining room and kitchen flow into an airy living space. The dining room is dominated by a handsome table in African hardwood, and opens out onto the courtyard and the sunny veranda. The kitchen retains the style of a Portuguese country kitchen, with hand-made chestnut cupboards, typical azulejos tiles and marble worktops. It has been brought thoroughly up to date with two multifunction ovens, microwave, induction hob, dishwasher and coffee machine. The living room is comfortably furnished with unique furniture and has a smart tv, bluetooth speakers, CD player, and a range of board games.

The house is surrounded on all sides by garden, which melds into the surrounding countryside. The nearest neighbours are a donkey called Luna, and some cows and sheep belonging to the farm in the bottom of the valley.
